@edythemighty: Yes
oh yes @chelx: Yes, but
warranties don't cover damage @krazykritter: Really? I'm going
to pull it on my mobile phone insurance as the excess is only
NZ$125 (about US$90) and hopefully they will come back with a nice
shiny screen,
I've been so damn precious with this phone, not even a scratch
and now it's buggered.
Let's just hope they stick to their word about it still covering
parallel imported phones as long as they are also available on the
Vodafone network. I bought mine through a parallel channel about 4
months before VF NZ had them.
Now I've got to go and hook it up to the TV so I can navigate
the menus in order to pull the data off the phone. What a pain as
it means installing Nokia suite onto my HTPC in the living
room.
Actually I am thinking maybe some nice donor see this post, will
give you a nice phone for free on your birthday or X'mas, u never
know, dear pal... X)
Oh genius. Just had a data projector delivered today. Hooked the
N95 to a proporta battery pack and the projector now I have a
screen. Now to hook up USB and I can backup the phone here on my
desktop - sweet
Day 5 - Yay! VF Insurance just called to say they have accepted
and are repairing the munted screen. Wicked, hopefully it'll be
back by the end of the week as it is damn weird having no mobile
data at all and this old Nokia 6210 really isn't that great
anymore.
Day 14 - Finally got news that the repair is going to be done.
So much for a 10 day turn around. Really beginning to miss being
hyperconnected through my N95, it's just too damn hard with only a
computer and no mobile connectivity.
Day 15 (?) - Just had news from the local VF shop that my wee
baby is back in. Much as my head says no to jumping in the car, I
think that is just what I'm gonna have to do real soon.
Pissed at the repair shop. They managed to leave fingerprints
and fluff on the new lcd underneath the slider AND it looks like
the polished the slider with a brillo pad - it's covered in
scratches. Needless to say i refused it at the shop. Oh well
another week to go then.
Three weeks to the day and Marmite is back in my grubby hands.
Screen still wasn't aligned properly and the scratches to the cover
are inexcusable BUT I really need a working phone now. Time to
right a snotty letter or two methinks.
