Wordpress.com? I like it, though they limit some HTML and
Javascript stuff, which has been annoying at times. I can't put a
Jaiku badge there (and other Web 2.0-ey stuff) because of it, but
it wasn't a total dealbreaker.
I have used Tumblr for only some time but found it to be very
limited in functionality. I had to upload images somewhere and
insert a link in the post. But it is damn easy to use
otherwise.
Tumblr is fine but I don't think it allows comments, does it?
personally I think WP.com is great, although it's limited in terms
of embedding Flash and stuff.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Interestingly no Blogger
mention. I'll have to do some investigation of the options this
afternoon once back from meetings.
I migrated away from Blogger to WP a long time ago... admittedly
Blogger is probably a little richer in function by now, but I found
it horrible to use back in 2005/6. WP is super and they will let
you use your wp.com domain as an OpenID provider too.

You can pay to get theme customisation ability. Or host your own version from wordpress.org and pay the hosting bills.

Same with me. Used Blogger a long time back and it wasn't that good at that time. The interface looks much better now.
