made the evening news two days on the trot. imagine the impact at the poor kids previous school which only had 50 or so pupils? notes went out in all kids bags yesterday as an anonymous announcement but names, addresses and news crews all over the place today. (...)

poor kid turns out to be an 11 year old boy, just started grammer school having come from a tiny village school. mother killed him just before trying (and failing) to commit suicide. Horrid.

@plasticsnow: get your boards ready - another couple of hours of this and the hills around us might even be usable. I remember people skiing and ice skating around this part of Kent when I was a kid.

Still going here, settling and if anything heavier. #1 son VERY VERY excited - he did experience snow just after his first birthday but at 6 and having lived in a sub-tropical climate this is all so new to him
